    Social Justice Leadership Program Application

The Social Justice Leadership Program creates the opportunity for students to explore urgent questions of social, economic and environmental equity while gaining the practical skills necessary to be an effective leader for change in any community or profession. The Social Justice Leadership Program is a cohesive, experiential four-year journey, combining rigorous academic studies, co-curricular activities and a paid internship - all focused on social justice.

Membership in the program is offered to 20 prospective first-year students on the basis of academic excellence and commitment to leadership, multiculturalism and social justice. Designed to identify exceptional students who have a passion to promote diversity, human rights or social justice for race, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identities, this $2,500 scholarship hopes to give those students the means to make a significant contribution within the Hanover community.

Participation in the Social Justice Leadership Program is by invitation only following admission into Hanover College and review of your brief essay (to be written below) and submitted application below. One recommendation letter is recommended but not required. Applications for admission and the Leadership Program form must be submitted by December 15, 2025 January 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

Invitations to compete for a place in the Social Justice Leadership Program will be made after you have been notified of an admission decision and your program application has been reviewed.

Individual interviews will then be held throughout the early part of 2026 to identify finalists and scholarship recipients.

This application form cannot be saved so it must be completed in one sitting.

Questions on completing your application or submitting materials? Contact the Office of Admission at admission@hanover.edu.
