2024 Theatre Scholarship Application

UPDATE: Following a technical issue surrounding our original deadline, applications may now be submitted through January 12, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

The Hanover College Theatre Scholarship is designed to honor talented high school students who are passionate about their role as a performer or technician. Interested students are invited to submit a personal statement detailing your experience and interest, two letters of recommendation and optional photos or video clips.

Awards range between $1,000 to $3,000 and are renewable each year upon continued participation in the department.

To qualify for consideration, you must have been admitted or submitted your completed application for admission to Hanover College and submitted this scholarship application/materials by ~~December 15, 2023~~ January 12, 2024.

When necessary, interviews are held by Zoom following the submission of two recorded monologues (for performers) or a portfolio (for technicians).

All applicants, performer or technician, will need to supply the following materials:

- A personal statement that describes your past theatre experience, and tells us more about why you want to be involved in the program at Hanover. (Experience includes music/dancing/acting classes taken or productions in which you have been involved.)
- Two letters of recommendation from a high school director, theatre teacher, choir director or dance instructor (or someone else you have worked with in theatre) that speaks to your abilities, collaboration skills and dependability.
- (Optional) 3-5 photos, or 1-2 video clips from productions in which you were involved.

Submission of these materials must be completed no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on December 15, 2023.

All materials should be sent to the Office of Admission scholarship coordinator, Brett Eppley, eppley@hanover.edu, no later than December 15, 2023. All questions and/or concerns may also be directed to Brett.

Once your application here is submitted and materials reviewed, a member of the theatre department or our Office of Admission scholarship liaison will be in touch. In some cases, a Zoom interview with the Hanover College Theatre faculty may be requested.
